For most homes, once a year keeps the common pests in check, which is why an annual general pest control maintenance treatment is one of our regular services. Homes near bushland or water, or ones that have had a problem before, can benefit from more frequent visits. We treat the whole property rather than just the room where you have seen something, and we will suggest a sensible interval once we have had a look.

In homes a pest infestation can happen for many reasons. Common causes include the availability of food, water,poor  hygiene, seasonal changes, nearby uncontrolled infestations, stored goods, overgrown vegetation and pests being introduced through bringing in packaging or other items from outside sources.

We choose the products and the method to suit each area and how it is used, and we will tell you plainly if a treated area needs to be left to dry or kept clear for a short time, and for how long. That is a normal part of the job, not an afterthought. If you have young children, pets, or anyone in the home with health sensitivities, tell us before we start so we can plan the treatment around them.

The common household ones: cockroaches, german cockroaches, rodents, spiders, silverfish, ants, fleas and ticks, bird mites, midges and mosquitoes, wasps, weevils and pantry moths, and carpet beetles. Termites and fire ants are handled differently, so those have their own dedicated services, though we will always tell you if we spot signs of either while we are on site.

Some interior treatments need a short window to dry before the space is back to normal, a great time for a cuppa break - and we will let you know if that applies before we start. For most external and general work, you can carry on as usual once we have finished.
